URL Shortener

Link stored on our server

Turn a long link into a short, shareable one.

Unlike the rest of this site, short links need a server to keep working for anyone who clicks them — so this one tool does store the link mapping (just the URL and a click count, no personal data).

About this tool

Paste in any long URL to get a short, easy-to-share link. Unlike every other tool on this site, this one is honest about a real difference: a short link only works if something remembers where it points, so this tool stores that one mapping (the URL and a click count) on our server rather than in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Is this really free, with no signup?
Yes — no account, no email, no limit on how many links you create.
Do short links expire?
No, links don't expire automatically. (As an operator running this yourself, you control the retention policy — see the README for details.)
Why does this tool need a server when the others don't?
Every other tool on this site processes your file once, in your browser, and forgets about it. A short link has to keep working for anyone who clicks it, indefinitely — that only works if the mapping is stored somewhere persistent, which has to be a server, not your browser.
What data is stored?
Just the destination URL, the creation time, and a click counter. No personal information, no IP logging beyond what's needed for basic rate-limiting.
